Patient Day of Scan
Please arrive at Sunshine Imaging at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled scan time. We will need all appointments to take place promptly to enable us to be ready for the next appointment in a timely fashion.
During your dental scan you will remain fully clothed during the procedure, as it is only a scan of the head and neck. You will NOT need to refrain from eating or drinking, and NO shots or liquids will be given prior to the scan. Scan time ranges from 17-24 seconds. All metal from the head and neck area must be removed prior to your dental scan. This includes, but is not limited to: metal dentures, glasses, and jewelry (including tongue rings).
From start to finish, the whole procedure should take less than 30 minutes. The images will be made accessible promptly for the doctor. In some cases, however, the images may not be available immediately. Both a CD-ROM and printed images of the scan will be available at no additional cost.
